What Is A Christian? |
|
Christians believe in Jesus, God’s son, who died for all, so we can know God and have eternal life. John 3:16 ‘God loved the world this way: He gave His only Son so that everyone that believes in Him will not die but will have eternal life.’ Christians believe that if you accept this, thank God for it and, with His help, turn away from the wrong in your life – you become a Christian, no matter what you have done wrong. 1 John 1:9 ‘God is faithful and reliable. If we confess our sins, he forgives them and cleanses us from everything we’ve done wrong.’ God promises to come into your life, give you a place in heaven and will give you the power to be the person that you were meant to be. 1 John 4:15 ‘God lives in those who declare that Jesus is the Son of God, and they live in God.’ Christianity is more than a religion, it is a relationship. When we have decided to turn from doing wrong, it is only the start. It is then that we start a life long and eternal relationship with God, deepening our understanding of God and his ways as we grow.
